REACH is a missions experience with one goal, to reach the world with the love of Jesus Christ. Whether by sharing our faith with a university student in Berlin, holding an abandoned baby in Romania, doing construction work on a Bible school in Belgium, or playing soccer with an HIV positive orphan in Africa…the goal is the same. The REACH experience is about reaching out with the love of Jesus Christ. We are passionate about using both word and deed to express the life changing power of Christ’s love. REACHeurope 2012
REACHeurope: Christian images are abundant in Europe, but Christians are not. There are scores of Cathedrals and icons to Christendom, yet less than 3% of the population knows Christ. Europe, a continent that brought us the Christian Reformation and lead in Christian missions expansion, is now one of the least reached continents on the globe. This is a terrible tragedy and the only solution is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is why GA Chi Alpha is partnering with ministries in Europe to help turn the tide and win back this continent for Christ.
REACHafrica 2012
REACHafrica: Unfortunately, many places in Africa have endured a prolonged economic decline. In Swaziland, two-thirds of Swazis live on less than $1 a day and unemployment has risen to a staggering 40%. Stark as the economic prospects are, these pale beside the scourge of HIV/AIDS, which has ravaged the tiny kingdom. At 43%, Swaziland’s HIV/AIDS rate is the highest in the world. HIV/AIDS has left a burgeoning orphan population and if left unchecked, the current economic social situation will lead to untold misery and suffering for children, families and communities. That is why GA Chi Alpha is partnering with ministries in Africa to help turn the tide and spread hope and love to the people of this continent.

Price for all REACH experiences:
- All trips have a budget of $2,950 per person (all inclusive)
- Price includes round-trip airfare, trains, buses, all in-country travel, food, insurance, lodging, training materials, and site seeing days.
- Students will be expected to raise this budget by means of fundrasing. All applicants must commit to sending donation request letters, participating in a 5k, and hosting a local fundraiser. The GA Chi Alpha office and your local campus pastor will assist in this process by means of training and providing support materials.

Brussels, Belgium – construction project on Continental Theological Seminary and outreach to university students in a French-speaking college town. (Seminary) (university outreach)

Bucharest, Romania - partnering with local missionaries reaching out to the hopeless…including high risk pregnancy home, orphans, abandoned baby hospital, and the poor. (ministry) (video)

Africa – partnering with a local ministry to help orphaned children, youth, and adults who battle poverty and the AIDS epidemic. (trip postponed)

The REACHeurope Schedule:
- Phase 1:
- Entire REACHeurope group will spend 4 days of Orientation and Cross Cultural Training at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium. We are privileged to hear from European scholars about European culture, history, and spirituality.
- Phase 2:
- REACHeurope group will split up into ministry teams and spend 10 days at their respective outreach locations.
- Phase 3:
- Entire REACHeurope group will reunite for 1 day for testimonies and fun in Paris, France.

I’M REALLY INTERESTED!! NOW WHAT?
- Talk with your campus pastor and ask if they would recommend you apply. Don’t have a campus pastor? Then speak with your church pastor and ask them if they would recommend you apply.
- If they approve, Download the APPLICATION, fill it out, and mail the application, a copy of your passport, and a check for the application fee + deposit to: GA Chi Alpha at 15 W 10th Street / Columbus, GA 31901
- Once your application is processed, you will be notified whether or not you have been accepted to join a REACH team.
- Upon acceptance, download the FUNDRAISING PACKET and begin the process of support raising.
- If you are able to meet your budget, you will attend the REACH missions experience.
Time line:
September 12th: application process opens
October 15th: early bird application deadline: $50 application fee + $50 deposit
October 31st: late application deadline: $50 application fee + $150 deposit (applies to all applications mailed after Oct 15th)
November 19th: team members send out 100 support letters
February: team members participate in telethon
March 1st: fundraising deadline for 100% budget
March 30th – April 1st: Collide Retreat and Mandatory REACH meeting
May 15th: REACH begins – all team members report to ATL by noon for training
May 31st: Return to ATL
